UPON REACHING 5,000â BOTH, MY EARS AND CAPTAINâS EARS STARTING POPPING AND WITHOUT HESITATION WE LOOKED AT THE PRESSURIZATION SCREEN TO SEE THAT THE BIG NEEDLE WAS CLIMBING AND LITTLE NEEDLE NOT PRESSURIZING. REMOVED AND REPLACED LH MLG SQUAT SWITCH.
T AT ABOUT 15000FT CABIN ALT LIGHT CAME ON WITH MASTER CAUTION AND MASTER WARNING. ALSO PAX OXYGEN CABIN MASKS DROPPED OUT.
ON TAKEOFF, AIR CIRCULATION NOISES INCREASED AS ENGINE POWER WAS APPLIED. INTO THE TAKEOFF, THE ACM OVERHEAT LIGHT WAS NOT NOTED UNTIL AFTER V1, SO THE TAKEOFF WAS CONTINUED. AFTER ROTATION, THE ITT INDICATIONS ON THE LEFT ENGINE WENT COMPLETELY RED IN COLOR. POWER WAS REDUCED TO BRING THE ITT BACK TO A NORMAL RANGE, AND EXTINGUISH THE ACM OVERHEAT WARNING LIGHT. SMOKE BEGAN TO COME INTO THE CABIN, AND AN IMMEDIATE RETURN FOR LANDING WAS REQUESTED FROM THE TOWER. THE PLANE WAS LANDED BELOW THE MAXIMUM LANDING WEIGHT, SO THOSE PARAMETERS WERE NOT EXCEEDED. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT THE ITT WAS RED FOR 5-10 SECONDS, AND LIKELY CLOSER TO 5 SECONDS. WE TOOK OFF FROM RUNWAY 20, ENTERED A LEFT PATTERN TO LANDING ON RUNWAY 20. THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ENGINE BIRD STRIKE WAS CONSIDERED, BUT CANNOT BE CONFIRMED WITHOUT AN INSPECTION.
CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AFTER THE LANDING GEAR INDICATION FOR THE NOSE GEAR FAILED. AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE NOSE GEAR UPLOCK ACTUATOR SWITCH WAS REPLACED, GEAR SWUNG, WITH ALL INDICATIONS NORMAL.
AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO FIELD, DUE TO ERRATIC TORQUE AND EGT FLUCTUATION ON LEFT ENGINE. THE BRIDGES WERE SWAPPED ON THE TORQUE SIGNAL AND CONDITIONER. THE SIGNAL CONDITIONER WAS ADJUSTED. A FUNCTIONAL CHECK OF THE SYSTEM WAS PERFORMED WITH ALL INDICATIONS NORMAL. THE TORQUE SIGNAL CONDITIONER WAS REPLACED AFTER ARRIVING AT MAINTENANCE BASE. THE NEW UNIT WAS ADJUSTED. A FUNCTIONAL CHECK WAS PERFORMED WITH ALL INDICATIONS NORMAL. (M)
AIRCRAFT ABORTED TAKEOFF DUE TO LEFT ENGINE TORQUE FLUCTUATION. THE SYSTEM WAS INSPECTED AND THE BYPASS VALVE WAS FOUND TO BE AT FAULT. THE VALVE WAS REPLACED AND A FUNCTIONAL CHECK OF THE SYSTEM PERFORMED WITH ALL INDICATIONS NORMAL. (M)
AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO FIELD DUE TO LIGHT SMOKE REPORTED IN CABIN. THE SYSTEM WAS TROUBLESHOT AND THE RIGHT TEMP CONTROL VALVE WAS DETERMINED TO BE AT FAULT. THE UNIT WAS REPLACED AND A FUNCTIONAL CHECK OF THE SYSTEM PERFORMED WITH ALL INDICATIONS NORMAL. (M)
FLT NR 4119 - CREW NOTICED LEFT NOSE WHEEL ASSEMBLY MISSING FROM AIRCRAFT AFTER LANDING IN PIT. MAINTENANCE REPLACED LEFT NOSE WHEEL ASSY IAW MM 32-40-00. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE. (M)
