WE HAD A REPEAT OCCOURANCE OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE CREW LANDED AND THE BRAKES WORKED AS INTENDED BUT AFTER STOPPING THE BRAKES STOPPED WORKING (HYDRAULIC PUMP TURNED OFF THAT SUPPLIES PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES). THE CREW USED THE BACKUP BRAKE SYSTEM AND BROUGHT THE AIRCRAFT TO A STOP AND SIGNALED GROUND CREW TO CHOCK THE AIRCRAFT AND HOOK UP A TUG TO GET IT TO THE PARKING AREA. WE SENT A TEAM FROM SBP TO PSP WHERE THE AIRCRAFT WAS LOCATED AND IDENTIFIED A FAULTY RELAY IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM THAT TURNED THE HYDRAULIC MOTOR ON/OFF. WE BELIEVE THIS WILL BE THE FINAL FIX FOR THIS INTERMITTENT ISSUE.

ON TAXI AT KUOX OUR CREW EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF BRAKING DURING THE INITIAL BRAKE TEST. THE CREW USED THE EMERGENCY BACKUP BRAKE SYSTEM AND BROUGHT THE ARCRAFT TO AN UNEVENTFUL STOP. GROUND CREW WAS CONTACTED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS REPOSITIONED BACK TO THE RAMP. TROUBLESHOOTING IS UNDERWAY AND WE HAVE A TECHNICIAN THAT IS VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE XLS SENT FROM OUR FACILITY TO THE AIRCRAFT TO ENSURE THIS ISSUE IS CORRECTED.

N876UC OUR CITATION 560 XLS WAS TAXIING AT KASE (ASPEN) ON 3/2/2025. WHILE PERFORMING THE BRAKE CHECKS AFTER JUST SETTING OFF FROM THEIR PARKED POSITION THE CREW RECOGNIZED THAT THE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THIS CAUSED THE AMBER MASTER CAUTION LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE AND THE BRAKE LO PRESS/ANTI SKID INOP LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AS INTENDED. THIS WAS UNEVENTFUL AND THE AIRCRAFT HAD PLENTY OF OPEN SPACE IN FRONT OF IT. THE CREW FOLLOWED PROCEDURE AND RAN THEIR CHECKLIST. THE CREW USED THE BACKUP EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS AN ACCUMULATOR TO POWER THE BRAKES, BROUGHT THE AIRCRAFT TO A SAFE HALT AND RADIOED THE TOWER REQUESTING TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE RAMP. THE AIRCRAFT WAS REPOSITIONED TO THE RAMP AND WE REMOVED IT FROM SERVICE AND WE CURRENTLY HAVE A MAINTENANCE VENDOR TROUBLESHOOTING THE AIRCRAFT. WE INTEND TO CHANGE THE HYDRAULIC PUMP MOTOR AS WE THINK THAT WAS THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE ISSUE.
