PILOT REPORTED HYDRAULIC WHINE/GRIND ON LANDING 10/19/2024 @ 0930. MECHANIC PERFORMED INSPECTION OF HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, GROUND RUN, AND TEST FLIGHT, NO ABNORMAL NOISES OR OPERATION NOTED. LATER THAT EVENING PILOT REPORTED HUMMING/VIBRATION ON APPROACH, MECHANICS HOOKED UP HYDRAULIC MULE, RAN SYSTEM AND ACTUATED FLIGHT CONTROLS, NO ABNORMAL NOISE OR OPERATION NOTED, WENT FOR MAINTENANCE FLIGHT WITH PILOT, DURING CRUISE VERY SLIGHT, INTERMITTENT "HUMMING" HEARD, NO CAUTION LIGHTS, PILOT REPORTED SLIGHT VIBRATION FELT IN COLLECTIVE AND CYCLIC. CAME TO CONCLUSION THE SOUND IS COMING FROM HYDRAULIC PUMP. REMOVING AND REPLACING HYDRAULIC PUMP. REPLACED HYD PUMP.
CREW REPORTED STRONG SMELL OF EXHAUST FUMES ON PATIENT FLIGHT, ON GROUND AND DURING FORWARD FLIGHT WITH TAIL WIND. REPLACED SLIDING WINDOW SEALS ON BOTH AFT CREW DOORS. WENT ON MAINTENANCE FLIGHT, COULD NOT DETECT ANY EXHAUST FUME SMELL IN AFT CABIN ON GROUND OR IN FLIGHT.
MEDICAL CREW MEMBER SEATED IN AFT RIGHT HAND SEAT REPORTED FUEL SMELL IN CABIN DURING RETURN FLIGHT TO BASE. PILOT REPORTED CREW MEMBER STARTED MENTIONING SMELL AFTER REFUELING AIRCRAFT.
STRONG ELECTRICAL SMELL FROM AC VENT AND FROM AFT ENGINE. GAINED ACCESS TO ENGINE, AVIONICS BAY, AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, INSPECTED FOR DAMAGE TO WIRING AND ELECTRONICS. NO DAMAGE FOUND. GROUND RAN AIRCRAFT WITH AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM ON AND EXPERIENCED NO ODORS. COULD NOT DUPLICATE CONCERN.
PILOT GOT A TRANSMISSION CHIP WARNING LIGHT. HE DID A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING OUTSIDE OF SALOME AZ , TRANSMISSION OIL AND FILTER REPLACED ALONG WITH A 20-MINUTE GROUND RUN AT 100%. CHECKED GOOD. (SERVICEABILITY CHECK WITH REFERENCE TO BH 407 MM DMC-407-A-63-00-00-01A-320A-A).
CREW SMELLED FUEL ON DEPARTURE. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED ENGINE DECK AND COMPARTMENT, ENGINE, INSPECTED CABIN AND FUEL CELL AREAS, INSPECTED AND OPERATED CABIN BLOWERS. NO LEAKS, DISCREPANCIES, OR SMELLS WERE FOUND AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE EVENT.
