PILOT WRITE UP, DURING CRUISE FLIGHT L MFD (DU) DIMMED AND COULD NOT BE ADJUSTED BRIGHTER. ALSO AN ACRID SMELL WAS NOTABLE IN A/C. NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. AT BASE REMOVED DISPLAY UNIT FROM INSTRUMENT PANEL AND INSPECTED WIRES FOR ANY TYPE OF DAMAGE OR BURNT AREAS NO DEFECTS NOTED. TURNED POWER ON. EVERYTHING POWERED UP NORMALLY AND THE DISPLAY UNITS WERE BOTH THE SAME BRIGHTNESS. WITHIN A FEW SECONDS A SMOKE/BURNING LIKE SMELL CAME FROM THE LEFT, CENTER, DU. CALLED MCAS AND TOOK THE ACFT OUT OF SERVICE.
TAIL ROTOR HUB ASSY, PN: 429-012-101-115, SN: ZC19 WAS REMOVED DUE TO INBD BEARING, PN: 429-3112-103-115 BECAME DELAMINATED CAUSING HUB TO SHIFT WHICH CAUSED ADDITIONAL DAMAGE TO THE HUB ASSEMBLY. HUB ASSY WAS SENT TO REPAIR BS FOR REPAIR. DURING INSPECTION OF THE HUB ASSY PN: 429-012-101-115. SN: ZC19 IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE DAMAGE TO THE HUB ASSEMBLY WAS BEYOND PUBLISHED ACCEPTABLE REPAIRABLE LIMITS.
DURING AWC CHECK, FOUND BLUE MAIN ROTOR BLADE CRACKED AT TIP CAP BLADE JUNCTION. CRACK STARTS AT L/E PROCEEDING TO REAR OF BLADE ALONG TOP OF BLADE .3750".
DURING AWC CK FOUND GREEN MAIN ROTOR BLADE, HAS CRACK ON L/E OF ABRASION STRIP AT SCARF JOINT OF BLADE & TIP CAP. CRACK IS .3750" LONG.
CREWMEMBER DETECTED ELECTRICAL SMELL, SAW FLUID DRIPPING ON NEBULIZER PLUG IN THE AC OUTLET. UNPLUGGED NEBULIZER AND REMOVED FLUID BAG, SOLVED THE PROBLEM. ON POST-FLIGHT, FOUND THE OUTLET BREAKER WOULD NOT TEST. CALLED MX.
THE BOLTS HOLDING THE WEIGHT SUPPORT SHEARED AND DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT. THIS CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE M/R GRIP, DAMAGE FOUND TO BE WITHIN LIMITS AFTER REPAIR. THE BOLTS ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE DEPARTED SUPPORT SHOWED 5 LOOSE BOLTS AND ONE BOLT SHEARED.(K)
TAIL ROTOR PITCH ACTUATOR CONTROL TUBE HAS STARTED GETTING WEAR DOWN BELOW THE PAINT AS IT PASSES THROUGH THE BULKHEAD. OPENED UP THE LIGHTNING HOLE TO ALLOW SUFFICIENT CONTROL TUBE CLEARANCE.
