DURING CLIMB, HANDED OFF TO CENTER, NO JOY ON COM 1. COM 2 WAS ON MEL. BACK TO PREVIOUS FREQUENCY, ASKED FOR ALTERNATE OR STDBY FREQ. SOMETIMES, I COULD GET THE STD BY FREQ. EXPERIENCED NO COM FOR 4 TO 5 MINUTE PERIODS. REPLACED FAULTY COAX CONNECTOR AT ANTENNA FOR COMM 2, COMM 1 OPS CHECKS PERFORMED, NO FURTHER ACTION NEEDED.
WHILE PERFORMING THE DOC 15 INSPECTION, FOUND A CRACK ON THE FRAME ON THE AFT SIDE OF THE VERTICAL STABILIZER AFT SPAR. CRACK IS APPROXIMATELY 6 INCH LONG ACROSS THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE FRAME. ALSO THE CLOSE OUT PANEL, BELOW THE RUDDER, ABOVE THE TAIL CONE, IS RUBBING ON THE RUDDER LINKAGE. WILL NEED TO PULL THE PANEL ( THIS IS ALSO THE APU INLET) TO INVESTIGATE.
RIGHT WHEEL WELL AFT SPAR WEB AT CENTER WING ATTACHMENT TUBS HAS CORROSION. REMOVED 4EA HI LOK FASTENERS. REMOVED SURFACE CORROSION TO LIMIT OF SRM 57-10-03. NDT ACCOMPLISHED ON WO 20TR612281, FURTHER CORROSION DETECTED. INSTALLED NEW HI LOKS P/N HL30-6-10. FURTHER REPAIR REQUIRED.
DURING DOC 1,3,5,5,15 AND MC INSPECTIONS LEFT HORIZONTAL STAB HAS CORROSION ON AFT UPPER SPAR (3 PLACES) STA 5.75-7.75 AND STA 135.8. AIRCRAFT FERRIED TO HOME STATION ON FERRY PERMIT DATED 06/10/2020. AIRCRAFT IS AWAITING MAINTENANCE AT THIS TIME.
