A FAILURE OF THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND TO MAINTAIN A PROPER GLIDE PATH TO THE RUNWAY AND HIS MISJUDGEMENT OF THE TOUCHDOWN POINT THAT RESULTED IN AN UNDERSHOOT AND SUBSEQUENT HARD LANDING.
