Part: AXLE — FAILED (LANDING GEAR)
ON TOUCHDOWN, THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE ACFT. THE ACFT PULLED TO THE LEFT AND CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY 350 FEED FROM THE TOUCHDOWN POINT IN THE GRASS ON THE LT SIDE OF RNWY. THE INVESTIGATION IDENTIFIED THAT THE LT MLG FAILED AT THE WELD POINT OF THE AXLE VERTICAL TRANSITION TO THE HORIZONTAL CYLINDRICAL MEMBER OF THE LANDING GEAR LEG.

LAW - LAW SHOP - MAIN WHEEL ASSY, PN N5010488, SN MAY 93-1232, WAS REMOVED FROM AIRCRAFT FOR TIRE REPLACEMENT. DURING SHOP INSPECTION, 2 CRACKS (APPROX .50 INCH) WERE FOUND RUNNING ACROSS THE TIRE BEAD FLANGE AREA OF INNER HUB ASSY. PN 5009237, SN AUG89-0900, INNER WHEEL HUB ASSY WAS REMOVED FROM SERVICE. (X)

FLT NR 3883 - LAWTON - DURING TAXI FOR TAKEOFF, CREW OBSERVED HYD QUANTITY GOING TO ZERO, SHUT ENGINES DOWN. MAINTENANCE FOUND HYD FLUID LEAKING FROM AREA LEFT SIDE NLG WHEEL WELL AREA. HYDRAULIC LINE P/N 9302631-001 WAS LEAKING FLUID BETWEEN BRAIDED LINE AND FITTING AND ON LINE. REPLACED LINE, SERVICED HYD SYSTEM PER AMM AND CHECK FOR LEAKS. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE. (M)

WHEEL ASSY WAS REMOVED FROM AIRCRAFT IN DFW AND SENT TO WHEEL SHOP. THE WHEEL ASSY HAS A 15 INCH OF INNER FLAGNE BROKEN OFF OF WHEEL INNER ASSY. THE INNER WHEEL ASSY HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM SERVICE. (W)
