I NEED TO REPORT ON AN INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED ON DECEMBER 19, 2024 AT APPROXIMATELY 13:30 LOCAL TIME. AIRCRAFT DASSAULT FALCON 900B N24FJ WAS TAXING UP TO THE VAN NUYS (KVNY) BLAST FENCE, WHEN THE PIC WAS TURNING INTO POSITION, HE STRUCK THE BLAST FENCE WITH THE LEFT-HAND WING TIP CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE L/H WING TIP AND PART OF THE FENCE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED BACK TO THE HANGAR, THE WINGTIP WAS REMOVED TO INSPECT AND LUCKILY FOUND NO DAMAGE TO THE WING STRUCTURE. WE ARE CURRENTLY ORDERING A WINGTIP AND THE OTHER COMPONENTS THAT MAKE UP THE WINGTIP ASSEMBLY I.E., NAVIGATION LIGHT, STROBE LIGHT, LENS, STATIC DISCHARGER, AND HARDWARE. I AM CURRENTLY WORKING WITH DASSAULT FALCON JET COMMAND CENTER AND THE STRUCTURES DEPARTMENT TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER INSPECTIONS NEEDED TO BE PREFORMED.
LEARJET 45 N786CC S/N 095 DLX786 WAS CLIMBING FROM 360 TO 370 AND CLEARED DIRECT TO LAS. WE SAW SMOKE COMING OUT FROM THE CENTER CONSOLE NEAR THE FMS. WE ALSO SMELLED ELECTRICAL SMOKE. WE HEARD A POP AND THE FMS IMMEDIATELY FAILED. WE DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND DIVERTED TO KLAS. THE FMS WAS NOTICEABLY HOT TO THE TOUCH SO WE PULLED THE FMS BREAKER AS A PRECAUTION. WE LANDED WITH OUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
DURING CRUISE, PILOT ENCOUNTERED SEVERE TURBULENCE WHICH INCLUDED A DESCENT OF ROUGHLY 400 FT IN 2 SECONDS. THE PLANE LANDED SAFELY AT THE INTENDED DESTINATION AIRPORT. GOT A TECH TO INSPECT THE PLANE IAW CH.5-5-00, FIRST LEVEL INSPECTION. SEVERAL SPOTS ON THE TOP LT WING ABOUT 4 FT OTBD OF THE NACELLE THAT HAD MINOR WRINKLES AND 1 SPOT ON THE LT NACELLE THAT HAD A SMALL BULGE. DUE TO WEATHER AND SCHEDULING THE TECH COULD NOT COMPLY WITH THE, SECOND LEVEL INSPECTION, IAW THE MM. THE PLANE REMAINS GROUNDED UNTIL FURTHER EVALUATION OF THE WRINKLES FOUND AND THE SECOND LEVEL INSPECTION CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED.
FRAME HAS A CLAMP RIVETED TO FLANGE TO MOUNT THE NOSE O2 BOTTLE. WHERE THE CLAMP COMES OFF THE END OF THE FLANGE, TO GO AROUND THE O2 BOTTLE, THE FLANGE RADIUS IS CRACKING, BOTH THE INBD AND OTBD ENDS. DETERMINED THAT FLANGE CURVE OF FRAME IS LARGER THAN BOTTLE. ADDED A RUBBER GASKET TO INSIDE OF CLAMP TO TAKE UP THE GAP BETWEEN THE FLANGE AND THE BOTTLE. REPAIRED FRAME.
