ON SCHEDULED INSPECTION FOUND VERY SMALL METAL PARTICLES IN OIL FILTER, NONE FOUND IN FINGER SCREEN. REMOVED ENGINE AND SEND FOR INSPECTION AND REPAIR. AFTER COMPLETION OF ENGINE TEAR DOWN EVERYTHING WAS WITHIN SPECS BUT THE LT MAGNETO DRIVE GEAR BEARING WORN. THE ENGINE DID NOT NEED TO BE TORN APART, BECAUSE THOSE BEARINGS CAN BE REPLACED IN THE FIELD. RECOMMENDATION: CHANGE BEARINGS P/N 67542 EVERY 500 HRS OR WHENEVER THEY FEEL ROUGH.
AFTER TAKEOFF THE PILOT NOTICED THAT THE RUDDER HAD TO MUCH PLAY IN FLIGHT. HE LANDED AND TAXIED BACK IN. UPON INSPECTION THE RUDDER CONTROL ROD WAS FOUND TO BE DAMAGED, FROM A WIND STORM THE NIGHT BEFORE. TO PREVENT REOCCURANCE, THE AIRCRAFT RUDDER SHOULD BE LOCKED IN PLACE AFTER EACH FLIGHT.
PROPELLER WAS INSTALLED ON RT SIDE OF AC, THE PROP WENT FEATHER, UNCOMMANDED ON ENGINE SHUTDOWN. PROPELLER WAS REMOVED FROM AC FOR INSPECTION AND WAS RECEIVED WITH THE BLADES IN FEATHER, LOGBOOK WAS NOT SUPPLIED. ALL INFO VIA PHONE. PROP CYLINDER WAS REMOVED AND THE SPRING KIT ASSY WAS CONTAINED. AFTER DISASSEMBLY, SPRING KIT INSP. PROP WAS VISUALLY INSPECTED, SPRING KIT REBUILT WITH REPLACEMENT PARTS, CYLINDER REINSTALLED AND BLADE ANGLES ADJUSTED. PROP ASSY RETURNED TO SERVICE. ALL WORK/ INSP ACCOMPLISHED IAW MFG MM. SCREWS, SPRING RETAINER, START WEIGHT LOCK(2 HALVES) AND START LOCK HSG SENT TO MFG SERVICE CENTER. (K)

LEFT ENGINE SPUN NR 6 CYLINDER ROD BEARING ON TRIP BACK FROM NASSAU. ENGINE WAS OVERHAULED BY T.W. SMITH ENGINE. THE ENGINE HAD 1,313.9 HOURS SINCE OVERHAUL.
