Maintenance disclosure history
Service Difficulty Reports are self-reported maintenance findings. The NUMBER of reports is not a measure of reliability — diligent operators file more, not fewer. These are shown for transparency, not as a negative signal. To verify a report, search its control number at the FAA SDRS site.
Reports span 1996–2015. Most-reported systems: Stabilizers (55) — 3; ATA 85 — 3; Hydraulic power (29) — 1. Most-common natures of condition, as filed: OTHER — 4; FLUID LOSS; WARNING INDICATION — 1; PARTIAL RPM/PWR LOSS — 1; WARNING INDICATION — 1.
7 reports on file.
Part: CONNECTING ROD — BROKEN (ENGINE)
DURING CRUISE FLIGHT, NR 1 AND NR 2 CONNECTING RODS FAILED AT THE CRANK JOURNALS CAUSING THE ENGINE TO SEIZE. THE RODS BROKE BOTH CASE HALVES AND THE LT MAGNETO FROM THE CASE. REASON IS UNKNOWN. 1515.1 HRS SMOH.
Part: HOSE — FAILED (HYD SYSTEM)
HYDRAULIC HOSE TO NOSE LANDING GEAR CYLINDER FAILED IN FLIGHT. THIS CAUSED TOTAL DEPLETION OF HYDRAULIC FLUID AND SUBSEQUENT HYDRAULIC PUMP FAILURE. PILOT WAS UNABLE TO EXTEND LANDING GEAR MANUALLY BECAUSE OF NOT ENOUGH FLUID. A GEAR UP LANDING WAS MADE WITH MINOR DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT.
Part: BRACKET — CRACKED (BEND RADIUS)
THREE OF FOUR BALANCE WEIGHT SUPPORT BRACKETS WERE CRACKED ALONG THE BEND RADIUS. CRACKS WERE 1.25 INCHES, 1.50 INCHES, AND 1.75 INCHES ON EACH. THIS WAS NOTICED DURING STABILIZER BEARING REPLACEMENT WITH THE STABLIZER OFF THE AIRCRAFT. SUBMITTER RECOMMENDED FREQUENT INSPECTIONS. UNKNOWN CAUSE. (X)

Part: ENGINE — FAILED (LEFT)
MSS/HPN - AT 9,500 FEET APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT, THE LEFT ENGINE RPM STARTED FLUCTUATING ABOUT 150 RPM. ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER THAT ENGINE FAILED COMPLETELY. AFTER ATTEMPTING A RE-START AND CHECKING GAUGES (FUEL FLOW, 20 FEET MANIFOLD, PRESSURE) THE ENGINE WAS FEATHERED AND A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING WAS MADE AT COLUMBIA COUNTY. IT APPEARS THERE WAS A CAMSHAFT FAILURE.
Part: RING — BROKEN (PISTON)
TEMPORARY POWER LOSS DURING CRUISE. SUSPECT CAUSE: BROKEN PISTON RING WHICH BECAME WEDGED BETWEEN PISTON AND CYLINDER WALL. REPLACED COMPLETE CYLINDER ASSY.
