CREW REPORTED THE LT ENGINE WILL NOT START. NO N1 ROTATION DURING START SEQUENCE. TROUBLESHOT SYSTEM AND FOUND DEFECTIVE START/GEN AND DRIVE SPLINE. R & R START/GEN WITH TSO: 0.0 UNIT AND INSTALLED "NEW" DRIVE SPLINE. REMOVED START/GEN: SN 96011 PREVIOUSLY REPLACED ON FEB 8, 2011 AS A TSO: 0.0 HRS PRIOR TO BRUSH FAILURE.
CREW REPORTED THAT LT STALL FAIL ANNUNCIATOR ILLUMINATED. TROUBLESHOT SYSTEM AND FOUND LT AOA HEAT INOPERATIVE. R & R LT AOA ASSY, PN SLZ8060-3, SN AB 0353. SYS OPS CHECKED OK.
LT BATTERY BUS WOULD NOT COME ON LINE. REPLACED IN-LINE FUSE P/N: S9491-3 (HZ113) - GROUND CHECKED AND OPS CHECKED OK.
CREW REPORTED "FAIL FLAP" CASS MESSAGE. AFTER EXTENSIVE TROUBLESHOOTING FOR WHAT WAS PERCEIVED TO BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE FOUND THAT A SWAGGED SLEEVE ON THE NR 6 FLEX DRIVE ASSY, PN 9914344-38 (MFG PN 140527-38) HAD SLIPPED AT THE CRIMP. THE MFG IPC REPLACES THIS PART WITH PN 9914344-56. IT HAS BEEN LEARNED THAT THIS SAME PN HAS FAILED ON THIS MODEL IN THE PAST. REPLACED NR 6 FLEX DRIVE AND COMPLETED MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL RIGGING. ALL CHECKS OK.
ON CLIMB OUT, AT 20,000 FT THE AILERONS FROZE WITH AN OAT OF 0 DEGREES C. PILOT WAS GETTING THE AMBER AP LIGHT. HE WOULD TURN THE AP "OFF" AND FREE UP THE CONTROLS ABOUT EVERY 15 TO 20 MINUTES BY EXERTING A LOSS OF FORCE TO FREE THE ICING. AT 33,000 FT WITH AN OAT OF -22 DEGREES, AND THE AP ENGAGED, THE ELEVATOR FROZE. PILOT SAID IT TOOK AN UNBELIEVABLE AMOUNT OF FORCE TO GET THE AC TO RESPOND. JUST LIKE BEFORE, HE WAS CONTROLLING THE AC WITH ENGINES AND TRIM. AT 6,000 FT, ON APPROACH, HE WAS USING ELEVATOR TRIM TO CONTROL THE AC AND ALMOST MAX'D IT OUT. AC IS AT SERVICE CENTER AND ARE LOOKING FOR THE POSSIBLE CAUSES OF THE FREEZING. WE ARE FOCUSING ON WATER INTRUDING THE TAILCONE AND GETTING ON THE AILERON AND ELEVATOR PULLEYS THUS CAUSING THE FREEZE.
ACFT FLIGHT CONTROLS FROZE AT ALTITUDE ENROUTE. THIS IS THE SECOND SITUATION WHERE THIS CONDITION HAS HAPPENED TO THIS ACFT. ACFT PREVIOUS REGISTRATION N1693L. A TECH WAS WITH THE ACFT. INSPECTED AREAS OF PREVIOUS CONCERN AND SERVICE PREVIOUSLY WORKED BY MFG, DRIED AFFECTED AREA AND ACFT REPOSITIONED FOR EVALUATION AND RESOLUTION. (K)

7/24/2008, AC TT: 461.8, TC:302 CREW REPORTED AILERONS FROZEN AFTER FLYING THROUGH MOISTURE (FROM FORM 26NA-210A, ATTACHED) 7/25/2008, AC REPOSITIONED TO MFG SERVICE CENTER FOR FURTHER EVALUATION AND RESOLUTION. 8/1/2008, AC TT: 462.3 MFG MTR FOR RESOLUTION. (K)
CREW REPORTED AILERONS FROZE AFTER FLYING THROUGH MOISTURE. 07/25/2008 AC REPOSITIONED TO SERVICE CENTER FOR FURTHER EVALUATION AND RESOLUTION. MFG HEAVILY INVOLVED WITH THIS ISSUE. (K)
WHILE ON A TRAINING FLIGHT THE FLIGHT CREW SELECTED "FLAPS" ON APPROACH. AS THEY LINED UP ON THE ILS THEY SELECTED "SPEED BRAKES" AND REALIZED THAT THY HAD NO HYDRAULICS ON THE AIRCRAFT. WHEN "GEAR DOWN" WAS SELECTED, THE CREW DID NOT SEE A DOWN AND LOCKED CONDITION. FOLLOWING EMERGENCY CHECK LIST, THE GEAR WAS BLOWN DOWN WITH THE EMERGENCY EXTENSION PROCEDURE AND THE AC CONFIGURED WITH 3 IN THE GREEN FOR LANDING. AC LANDED UNEVENTFULLY. MAINT INSPECTED THE AC FOR LEAKS AND FOUND NONE. ELECTRICAL PWR WAS APPLIED TO THE AC AND THE LANDING GEAR AND HYDRAULIC SYS CHECKED ELECTRICALLY WITH NO PROBLEM FOUND. THE AC WAS JACKED AND HYDRAULIC PRESSURE APPLIED WITH THE LT PUMP TO ATTEMPT A GEAR SWING. INDICATION SHOWED THAT THE AC HAD FLOW BUT NO PRESSURE AND GEAR WOULD NOT SWING. HYDR SYS INSPECTED AND A SMALL SCREEN FOUND AT THE SEAT OF THE LOAD VALVE SOLENOID. REPLACED LOAD VALVE SOLENOID WITH NEW UNIT AND AC STILL WOULD NOT OPERATE HYDRAULICALLY. HYDR PRESSURE APPLIED WITH THE RT SYSTEM AND ALL AC SYSTEMS FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. MAINT DETERMINED THAT THE LT HYDR PUMP WAS DRAWING IN AIR FROM THE SHAFT SEAL ALLOWING FLOW BUT NOT PRESSURE. LT HYDR PUMP WAS REPLACED WITH NEW UNIT. ALL SYS OPERATIONALLY CHECKED OK. (K)
