WHEN PILOT CAME IN FOR LANDING, THE LANDING GEAR FAILED TO EXTEND. AFTER PERFORMING THE LANDING GEAR EMERGENCY EXTENTION PROCEDURE, THE NOSE LANDING GEAR FAILED TO EXTEND COMPLETELY. THE PILOT THEN PERFORMED AN EMERGENCY LANDING WITH JUST THE TWO MAIN GEARS EXTENDED.

INSTALLED NEW OVERHAULD FUEL CONTROL UNIT DURING MAINTENANCE. OVERHAULED UNIT THEN FAILED AFTER A FEW SUCCESSFUL ENGINE RUNS. THE SYMPTOMS OF FAILURE WERE SLUGGISH ACCELERATION ON THE FINAL SUCCESSFUL RUN, FOLLOWED BY MIN-FLOW STARTS, APPROXIMATELY 50 PERCENT N1.
