PILOT REPORT FLAP ASYMMETRY WARNING DURING APPROACH. FOUND FLAP CABLES ON RIGHT WING LOOSE. EXAMINED A RUSTED AREA OF THE CABLE BY PULLING ON IT AND IT PULLED OUT OF ITS SWAGGED FITTING.

LANDING GEAR FAILED TO UNLOCK AND RETRACT AFTER TAKEOFF. PILOTS ATTEMPTED TO RECYCLE WITH NO EFFECT, RETURN TO POINT OF DEPARTURE WITH THEE GREEN LIGHTS, GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED. PREVIOUS, MX ON INSTRUMENT PANEL MAY HAVE STRESSED WIRING BUNDLE AND LANDING GEAR SWITCH SOLDIER CONNECTIONS. REPAIR WAS MADE, LANDING GEAR TESTS AND A TEST FLIGHT WAS PERFORMED. NO FURTHER MALFUNCTIONS REPORTED.

SNOW AND ICE CONTAMINATION OF LANDING GEAR CAUSING A FAILURE TO COMPLETE THE RETRACT CYCLE. SUSPECTED FAILED UPLOCK SWITCH AFTER GEAR WAS THAWED OUT. ALSO FOUND RIGHT LANDING LIGHT BRACKET MISALIGNED, SUSPECTED THAT THE DE-ICING PROCEDURE IN TORONTO CANADA, MISALIGNED THE LANDING LIGHT BRACKET TO BE CAUSING THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR, FAILURE TO COMPLETE THE RETRACTION CYCLE.

LANDING GEAR FAILED TO RETRACT NORMALLY, PILOT ELECTED TO EXTEND THE GEAR AND RETURN TO THE AIRPORT. DURING EXTENSION THE RT MAIN GEAR DIDN'T SHOW DOWN AND LOCKED. PILOT PERFORMED EMERGENCY EXTENSION PROCEDURE, AND LANDED NORMALLY. IT WAS FOUND THE RT DOWNLOCK HOOK VERY SLOW TO LOCK. REMOVED DOWN LOCK HOOK BOLT CLEANED, REASSEMBLED. LANDING GEAR OPERATED NORMAL.
