WHILE TAXING OUT FOR DEPARTURE, RECEIVED A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM 2 LOW CAS MESSAGE, WHICH WAS VERIFIED ON THE MFD PAGE, RETURNED TO THE FBO AND VISUALLY CONFIRMED HYDRAULIC FLUID LEAKING.
WHEN ADVANCING THE THROTTLS FOR TAKEOFF, A MINOR VIBRATION WAS FELT, THE APR ACTIVATED AND THEN IT WAS NOTED THAT THE NR 2 ENGINE WAS NOT PROVIDING ADEQUATE POWER. REJECTED THE TAKEOFF BELOW 50 KNOTS. AS THE AIRCAFT TAXIED OFF THE RUNWAY, NOTED AN ABNORMALLY HIGH TT ON THE NR 2 ENGINE 880 DEGREES F, AND SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE. OPEN

SMOKE IN COCKPIT AFTER TAKEOFF ALONG WITH ODOR OF OIL. ACFT RETURNED TO AIRPORT AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
WHILE DESCENDING FROM 8000 FEET TO 3000 FEET WHILE ON APPROACH TO LANDING AT KBOS THE CREW EXPERIENCED A LOW OIL PRESSURE ANNUNCIATOR WITH ASSOCIATED MASTER CAUTION FLASHERS AND PRESSURIZATION BUMP. THE CREW DETERMINED THE NR 1 ENGINE HAD AN UNCOMMANDED SHUTDOWN. THE CREW RAN THE SINGLE ENGINE SHUTDOWN CHECKLIST AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A RESTART WAS NOT FEASIBLE DUE TO PROXIMITY. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND THE ACFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. SUBSEQUENT GROUND INSP OF THE ENGINE REVEALED NO SIGNS OF INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL DAMAGE. A MX CREW INTERROGATED THE ENGINE DEEC AND FOUND NO FAULT CODES PRESENT. A DOWNLOAD OF ENGINE DATA WAS ACCOMPLISHED AND SENT TO THE ENGINE MFG FOR ANALYSIS. THE MX CREW R & R THE ENGINE FUEL PUMP, FUEL CONTROL, AND FLOW DIVIDER. THE ENGINE WAS STARTED AND ALL OPS CHECKS WERE FOUND TO BE SATISFACTORY IAW THE ENGINE MM.
DURING CRUISE, FLIGHT CREW REPORTED INTERMITTENT FIRE WARNING ON NR 2 ENGINE. FLIGHT CREW FOLLOWED PROCEDURES IN AFM IN ORDER TO CONFIRM OR EXCLUDE VALIDITY OF INDICATION. FLIGHT CREW DETERMINED INDICATION WAS FALSE. MX TROUBLESHOT SYS AND DETERMINED THAT WITH ENGINE COWLING CLOSED, FIRE DETECTION LOOP RAIL 2 WAS INTERMITTENTLY SHORTING ON ACCY GEAR BOX. MX REPOSITIONED LOOP TO ALLOW INCREASED CLEARENCE BETWEEN GEARBOX AND 5 LOOP. FUNCTION CHECKS OF THE SYS INDICATE NORMAL OPERATION. THERE ARE NO DEFECTIVE PARTS INVOLVED.
DURING CRUISE, FLIGHT CREW REPORTED INTERMITTENT FIRE WARNING INDICATION ON NR 2 ENGINE. FLIGHT CREW FOLLOWED PROCEDURES IN AFM IN ORDER TO CONFIRM OR EXCLUDE VALIDITY OF INDICATION. FLIGHT CREW DETERMINED INDICATION WAS FALSE. MX VERIFIED THAT THE INDICATION OF THE FIRE WAS INDEED FALSE, AND TROUBLESHOT THE DETECTION SYS AND IN AN ATTEMPT TO ISOLATE THE FAULT SWAPPED NR 1 AND NR 2 ENGINE FIRE DETECTION CONTROL BOX AND FUNCTION TESTED SYS IAW AMM. AT THIS TIME, SYS IS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY AND NO SPECIFIC PART HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED.
DURING ACSENT(15 MINUTES AFTER DEPARTURE), CREW EXPERIENCED ODOR OF SMOKE IN CABIN ACCOMPANIED BY NR 2 ENGINE LOW OIL PRESSURE AND HIGH OIL TEMPERATURE. CREW SHUTDOWN AND SECURED NR 2 ENGINE, AND INITIATED EMERGENCY DESCENT. INITIAL FINDINGS SHOW THAT THE NR 2 ENGINE OIL TANK WAS EMPTY WITH SIGNS OF OIL EVIDENT ON THE ENGINE TAILPIPE. ALSO BYPASS INDICATOR WAS POPPED AND CHIP PLUGS HAD DEBRIS ON THEM. ENGINE WILL HAVE TO BE SENT TO FOR INVESTIGATION INTO ACTUAL FAILURE AND CAUSE.
DURING TAKEOFF AT ROTATION, LOUD SERIES OF BOOMS HEARD. CREW CONDUCTED FLY BY AND ADVISED BY CONTROL TOWER TO LAND. AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY. SUBSEQUENT BOROSCOPE INSPECTION OF NR 2 ENGINE REVEALED HEAT DAMAGE TO MULTIPLE STAGES OF TURBINE SECTION. (K)
PILOT NOTICED INTERIM WINDOW HEATING WIRES GLOWING AND OVERHEATING. APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS AFTER TURNING HEAT OFF, THE OUTER GLASS PANE CRACKED FROM SHOCK COOLING.
AFTER TAKEOFF, PILOT NOTICED OIL COMING OUT OF ENGINE COWLING. AFTER LANDING, FOUND OIL DIPSTICK COUPLING AND CLAMP BECAME LOOSE FROM ENGINE CASE NIPPLE. REINSTALLED COUPLING AND SECURED CLAMP. RECLAMPED DIP STICK HOUSING WITH SMALLER ADEL CLAMPS. WASHED ENGINE AND GROUND RUN-UP OF ENGINE. NO LEAKS NOTICED. RECOMMEND AT EACH PRE-FLIGHT WHEN CHECKING OIL LEVEL, TO ALSO INCLUDE VISUAL INSPECTION OF DIPSTICK HOUSING SECURITY. AIRCRAFT TOTAL TIME 1,466.7. REFERENCE: AIR CARRIER CERTIFICATE NR EW7A379W.
